Hi all,

I'm wondering if 35 plugins is excessive or could lead to lag. I made around 330ish tiddlers so far and I'm not sure if 7.3 mb is a proportionate size. I believe I only have 2 media in my wiki and both are links to outside sources.

Thanks,

Emily

I would definitely thing 35 is more than most have. I usually have 3-8 plugins. But do consider that plugins are just tiddlers! So it does not per se have to be any problem whatsoever. However; the reality is that the plugins you have are probably not official plugins and thus not "quality assured" (and even if they were, it's still not 100% sure) so there may be interference between plugins, for example one plugin maker modifies a core tiddler that another plugin makers plugin also depends on. Or maybe the plugin makers happen to use the same name for some macro. Or a stylesheet that overrides another style.

35 plugins + 330 tiddlers and 7.3 MB can be totally without any problem. The sheer quantities are not problematic per se. The risk in what specific content they have and how they interact and that goes for plugin tiddlers as well as any other. If you experience problems... I guess that's the right time to ask what should be done. Before that, it's not really a practical question.

Hi Emily,

Did you include the TW5.com Docs plugin? .. If so this adds about 4Mbyte, which isn't necessary anymore, once you know how to use your personal wiki.

And yes. 35 plugins seems to be excessive. ... But it depends on your usecase. If everything works as expected, it should be fine.

The size of your wiki is a bit high. So also check in advanced search if you have an $:/Import system tiddler. You can savely remove it or click the "Cancel" button if it shows one.

$:/HistoryList should only have a couple of lines, after the wiki tab was reloaded. If yours is several 100 lines long, you may remove this one too. ... It shouldn't be saved in a standard wiki configuration.

If you reload your wiki it shouldn't have any $:/temp/RemoteAssetInfo/https://tiddlywiki.com/library/v5.1.22/... tiddlers. If it has some, you can savely remove _all_ of them. They are dynamically created if you import plugins. ... They shouldn't be saved with the TW.

that's it
