I need to be able to sync my task list between my PC and phone via Google Drive or something similar. The only one I have tried is Tiddloid on my sister's 4gb Huawei, and it was probably a bit too slow to be usable. (I can't try the others until my new phone arrives)

Is there any reason to use one of these over the other? Are any of these the 'official' option? Are there any other solutions out there?

Thanks for your help!

Another approach is installing Termux and hosting the wiki on node from your phone. The phone becomes the source of truth and you enable access from your PC on the LAN when home so no sync needed.

There are some google drive and dropbox possibilities and any server hosted wiki on the internet such as using tw-receiver that enables saving can also work for you if you always have data.

Thank you Tony for the suggestion. I'm assuming a wiki running on nodejs would be a bit faster than the single file version?

Would this method involve loading Termus and typing tiddlywiki wikiname --listen every time I want to access the wiki?

Thanks for your help.

I have recently discovered that Firefox with PMario's File Backup addon appears to work very well on Android.

The only caveat is that tiddlywiki file needs to be placed in the Android download folder. This preserves any relational-based external links such as image files, thereby maintaining integrity between your desktop and Android versions.

The problem with running node or TS in termux is that Android will periodically shut down termux without warning. This is part of Android's memory management. Often you don't know this when using the browser, so you'll go to save and get an error. Then you have to figure out how to rescue your data. It helps to always reload your TW file before starting any work. I would guess on my system termux would die up to 4 times a day. Also, you really can't use node safely as an external server except inside your own router fire-wall. So, maybe better to use some solution like file-backups coupled with synchthing.

Importiant warnings re termux. I have not used it for a while but I did not get these symptoms. I purchased the app component to load on reboot but never got it working. When working it offers mobile first and desktop access which is nice but a strategy to deal with other Wi-Fi networks would be good.

I wonder if bob would allow reconfig to local host and server restart?

Si,

I forgot to mention using any of the Android apps, if you connect your Phone via usb to the desktop you can open the file from the desktop and using something such as Timimi on FireFox save back. Just close the android app while editing on the desktop. This is a simple approach to multiple device access.
