Hi all,

When I try to import a .tid file by invoking the "Import" tool in the toolbar, it doesn't appear in $:/Import. Instead I get a random list of tiddlers already in my Wiki. Or rather, though I'm not sure of this, the list might not be random but rather contain tiddlers that I have sometimes accidentally dragged and dropped, perhaps when attempting to select text. Regardless, I find this a bit odd. Editing $:/Import displays the tiddler that I attempted to import, but there is no way to actually proceed with the import operation.

Dragging and dropping files from the file system onto the Wiki works as expected.

I'm running TW 5.1.7 on Firefox. (Yes, I'm yet to upgrade, but thought I would wait for 5.1.9 due to some reported bugs with 5.1.8.)

Best regards,
Linus

As you found out the $:/Import tiddler is a "temporary" store. So it contains a JSON representation of your "accidentally dragged tiddlers" and the tiddlers you did drag and drop from the file explorer.. .. .You can open the tiddler and delete it, to clean up the accidents.

I did a short test with tiddlywiki.com and imported a .tid file from my HD. .. It worked, as expected. FF 37.0.2 win8.1.

How do your .tid files look like?

What if 5.1.9 doesn't fix the bug(s) you don't name here. So nobody knows, what you are waiting for?

Hi Linus

I'm running TW 5.1.7 on Firefox. (Yes, I'm yet to upgrade, but thought I would wait for 5.1.9 due to some reported bugs with 5.1.8.)

The only problems with 5.1.8 that have been reported are issues for people who had upgraded to a pre-release of 5.1.8 that was posted for 48 hours. I'm not aware of any other issues.

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Best regards,
Linus

Mario,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Cancelling the import operation did indeed delete $:/Import, but this did not fix the issue with the lingering tiddlers – trying to import a file brings them, instead of the file contents, right back into $:/Import. So I guess that their JSON representations are stored in some cache elsewhere as well and somehow pushed back into $:/Import whenever it is created. Dragging a file onto my Wiki did clear this hypothesized cache, however, and now the "Import" button works as expected again. Although this workaround did solve the problem, I thought you might want to look into it.

The .tid files in question were the three tiddlers comprising Tobias Beer's "Taggly" macro. They look perfectly fine with me – a header followed by the macro definition and template code, respectively. They also work fine once imported through drag and drop.

Best regards,
Linus

The bug in question was that of single quotes breaking after updating from 5.1.7. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Jeremy planned to fix this in 5.1.9.

Ah, I see now. Apologies!
