CodeMirror autocomplete appearing behind tiddlers?

I'm at my wits' end on this and hoping someone else might have experienced this before. On two of my wikis, CodeMirror autocomplete works fine. On the third, the completion popup appears behind tiddlers in the story river:

Clearly this is not a general problem with the plugin because it works fine in my other two wikis, but I have combed through all my shadow tiddlers and custom styles and have not found anything even remotely connected to this. I've also tried disabling most of my other plugins.

Maybe I just need to do the same thing over again more carefully, but before I spend another frustrating 2 hours doing that, has anyone here had a similar problem?

Seems to me to the z-index issue. IRC autocomplete dropdown has z-index 10 so you can try setting lower z-index for the editor frame. Else force it using !important in a stylesheet. If all attempts fail, fire up the node server and diff the tiddlers with your other two wikis.

Thanks Tejasvi, I set the z-index on the .CodeMirror-hints class to 1000 instead of 10, and it now displays correctly. I guess that'll work for now, at least until I update CodeMirror and the hint CSS changes.

What I don't understand is how the wiki could have gotten into this state. There are no overridden shadow tiddlers containing the text "z-index" in my wiki (or, there weren't until I just made this change). How could the editor frame have gotten a wrong value without my other wikis on 5.1.23 being affected? Doing a diff sounds good, but since I don't know what tiddlers are involved, I'm not sure that's practical.

(Update: Putting .CodeMirror-hints { z-index: 1000; } in a separate stylesheet tiddler works just as well, so no need to override the plugin tiddler.)
