The subject is the message.

The "new" Google Groups, generally, sucks, so far.
  • Functions have disappeared.
  • Layout got more inflexible.
  • On mobile its very bad indeed.
Given that TW was already struggling on GG to be useable (it was fine day to day; just its memory was so bad you could not find things easily) we need an approach to either leverage against the limits (e.g. alternative search & posting mechanisms) or just find another solution.

The projected NEW GG full rollout is soon. It seems way premature.

TT,

I fear for the day that happens. I have involuntarily had the new group shown a couple of times...and hastily changed back. I do not have to worry about mobile use. Hope to be able to adapt though, because I would terribly miss the group otherwise.

I recommend,

Change to the new groups, look for a problem, there is plenty, change back to the old groups, you should get a chance to explain why you are going back.

I have done it a few times, and include statements like "cant do basic things" such as reply on mobile etc..

Right. Agreed. Switching back after auto-converts (on Desktop) is the easiest way to register comments on how it sucks.

It is very poor. It is LESS FUNCTIONAL than the previous version. That must be a conscious choice, given that Google are not idiots, indicating the changes are motivated--likely for reasons not so obvious yet.

And on Mobile its a real mess.
