How does one use the $entity widget?
None of these seem to work:

<$entity entity="×" />
<$entity entity=× />
<$entity ×/>
<$entity entity="×"></$entity>
<$entity entity=×></$entity>
<$entity ×></$entity>

Hi S.S,

I tried your examples on tiddlywiki.com and they work if I put them into a tiddler and then klick within the search input in the sidebar

I assume the entity widget has a refresh problem that needs to be investigated

Erm. Could someone explain what the purpose of the $entity is? Can't we do it natively already?

In italian there's the word boh for that ... it's very useful

the widget is used at some places in the core, like the "preview" dropdown in the editor toolbar, where a is (should be) displayed beneath the selected preview option. There you can notice that it's not working correctly. The ✓isn't displayed at first. But after clicking in the sidebar-search-input, it is displayed...

I don't know what the advantage should be of using it instead of using the entity directly,

so ... boh

So it almost works!
Thanks for spotting the issue.
I saw its name in the Widgets tag dropdown and just wondered what it did.

Cheers
