Timimi needs a firefox add-on and a piece installed in the local os then you can forget it. It allows you to open and save from single files wikis in any location. As a result a localy synched cloud drive is all you need.
I am running Firefox version 76.0.1 on a MacBook Pro with MacOS Catalina (version 10.15.4). The Timimi add-on loaded fine.

The part that trips me up is " and a piece installed in the local os ".

From another website: https://ibnishak.github.io/Timimi/ , I "Download timimi-2-1-1-Mac from Github" and a textedit box opens with a file that does not end (and locks up every time you scroll more than a half a page).

Some will say - AHA! Did you see the notice for Catalina users: Resolution of "developer cannot be verified" issue in Mac OS Catalina ?
I do not get that error message. When I go to my "Library/Application Support/timimi" folder, there is no "timimi executable" to Control-click.

This hard stop repeats over and over. I think this is what Riz calls the "native host". How do I install it?

It sounds like your browser is confused about what type of file the local-OS piece is. Try right-clicking on the link and choosing "Save Link As."

I have since loaded the older version of Timimi for Mac. I did get the "developer can't be verified" query and fixed it.

There is still no "Library/Application support/timimi" folder, and timimi running on firefox FAILS to save, stating I am using a "disconnectedPort".

Any ideas for next attempt?

I do not think you downloaded file should open any textedit box. I do not have a mac, I am using linux, but the file I downloaded was a packed file I had to unpack before running the installer. Running the installer I was asked to select the browser to use, and after all that the timimi can be found installed for use in the selected browser.

I think you will have to wait for help from Riz or someone using MacOS.

All right. Let us review. You downloaded timimi native host to your download folder? What is the name of the file there?

Hi Riz,

In my download folder, the downloaded native host is called "timimi-2-1-1-Mac"
The option to open is with TextEdit (default)
I cannot find any other file to open it with, although (almost all) other downloads open with ArchiveUtility by default
It saves in my downloads folder as a 4.2Mb file

Thanks for your help

Can you open the terminal application in Mac and run the following commands one by one

cd ~/Downloads
chmod +x ./timimi-2-1-1-Mac
./timimi-2-1-1-Mac

Ignore below - I had changed the name to add the extension .zip in an attempt to "force" a different default - it seemed to load - trying Timimi now...

That is weird. You have timimi-2-1-1-Mac in your "Downloads" folder - which the exact name of your Downloads folder? But terminal says the file is not there. Is there a chance your Downloads folder is located anywhere else but in your home folder?
