Does an online TW know where it is and what it is?

To try explain what I mean, here is an ...

... ISSUE ... say you come upon a brilliant Online TW that you want to save a copy of ... but you also want to save metadata like ...
  1. - What web address was it saved from?
  2. - Who is the author/owner?
  3. - What date was it saved at (today/<<now>>)?
  4. - What version of TW is it?
  5. - Could you have a way to make notes about it?
  6. - Where is it archived by you?
  7. - Can you change the save name?

In the back of my thought is a single Tiddler you can D&D to the TW you want to copy before you copy it that would let you fill in those kinds of details so that, later, you can know what you have. If it could auto-populate, so much the better.

Please ask if this is unclear.

Best wishes

Josiah

Hi,

I think all of this can be achieved, with a custom "save this TW" button. Similar to "save empty" or "Download full Wiki"
The filter, that defines, what to download is defined at $:/core/save/all ...

So you can prepare an info tiddler, that can be dragged to your "links-tw" which contains some meta data. or you can prepare a download button.

Josiah,

I have being designing what I call a Wiki -Tiddler to manage all my own Wikis. It allows annotations and field with locations such as Intranet address and File Location. Once populated I drag and Drop it to a My Directory Wiki.

As I was building that I created my TWInternals (dependant on a StyleSheet and Details Widget) but you could make one with no dependencies. Have a Look at mine at http://tiddlywiki.psat.com.au/#TW5Internals
Especially under

General TiddlyWiki Systems > Information Tiddlers

Where you can see some of the values you are looking for.

You could display the details you want to capture and Copy and Past the values into a registry Wiki or the downloaded wiki.
