I thought this interesting ... I often find spacing in TW inelegant. I stumbled on this by accident ...

The code ...

BEFORE PERRY MASON SLIMMING ...

>''My Headline''

<br>

><<tree "$:/core/buttonstyles/">>

---

AFTER PERRY MASON SLIMMING ...

> ''My Later Headline''

<PerryMason><!-- narrowline--></PerryMason>

><<tree "$:/core/buttonstyles/">>

WHY does this work? 🙂

Best wishes

Josiah

Hi Josiah,

This works because a <br> inserts a (line) break, while a tag with a fantasy name and/or a comment break the blockquote in two quotes as well, but insert double nothing.

These work too:

> ''My Later Headline''

<!-- hercule poirot -->

> <<tree "$:/core/buttonstyles/">>

---

> ''My Even Later Headline''

<TiddlyTweeter/>

> <<tree "$:/core/buttonstyles/">>

Cheers,
Thomas aka Mr. Watson

Thanks Thomas

Eek!

I was surprised that an HTML comment worked to do that too. That doesn't seem right! ...

Yours
Dr. Watson (Poirot) Junior.
