I see people use grey boxes to put code in, or LinOnetwo uses an even more elaborate style.
Other forums I go to usually support either HTML or markdown.
What is the syntax on this forum?

When you are editing a post, there is a toolbar above the edit box.  The last item in the toolbar is "{ }".  This is for styling code.

Select the text you want to style, and then press the "{ }" button.

Note: GoogleGroups sometimes adds extra newlines in the code-formatted content.  These can be manually edited out once the formatting has been applied.

Thanks Eric.

I don't edit posts via the website, I do it via my email so will have to do without the proper coding syntax. My apologies for that.

Peter,

FYI: I spend all day on the forum and dont both with email https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/tiddlywiki

Try using the back tick surrounding text

`test `

If I am wrong the above wont look like code.

<code>This is another experiment</code>

Regards
Tony

They did not work,

I will see if I can find a work around. But it should be somewhere in your email client.

TonyM, no, it's not in my email client, perhaps because I am using a webmail which only offers bold and italics.

Not to worry, I'll just make sure there are at least 2 empty lines between my comment and the code.
