I think there should be an operating system that works like TiddlyWiki.

Where if you download a file or image it becomes a tiddler, to which you can add tags and fields, and there is a section for editing. No node js, no filesize limitations, just have your whole device be a giant TiddlyWiki.

Okay, there is my big idea for the weekend. Now get busy, I want to be able to buy my Tiddler Pad Pro by Christmas! :-)

Yes, perhaps with an explorer-view merging the best of tiddlymap.orgimapping.infotrello.com, workflowy.comthebrain.com, xmind.net, etc... with...
  • automagic clustering of adequately chunked tidbits
  • on a distributed filesystem
  • multiuser, of course
  • plus version control

This takes me back. About 10 years or so, to when I first found
TiddlyWiki, decided that I really needed to learn javascript and built
Atomic OS <http://atomos.sourceforge.net/aos-1.1/index.html>. In fact,
it's persistance layer is pulled (in-part) directly from TW code (from
whence the name "Atomic" was derived ;-)

So, while I've yet to go back and truly build on the concept, here are
some relevant thoughts:

- I don't think an explorer view for the web and/or tiddlers is at all
out of the question (and may not even be all that hard)
- WebRTC data channels might prove a potential foundation for a
distributed filesystem
- With node.js and a few hours coding, a massively multi-user setup
should be relatively easy to introduce
- As for embedded version control, I believe you'll find me listed
over at <https://github.com/creationix/js-git/blob/master/BACKERS.md>

I do wonder though... What are "adequately chunked tidbits?"

Dave et al.,

yes...

its annoying when I use my iPhone to make a reminder, why can't i link it to a photograph.... why can't the reminder be a tiddler.... i want everything to be a tiddler.... is the world insane! Can't it see????

I set off my timer, i am timing something. When I press stop, why can't I create a tiddler with with a set of stopwatch fields, stamped with the location data too. Then I can create a hypertext from that tiddler.... I want location based tiddlers so that I can literally sprawl my hypertext across the physical world. OK?

I want my TiddlyPhone right right now!
