HelloThere!

Open above or below currentTiddler depending on tag in a tag hierarchy

IF
clicking on the link  Transclusion Basic Usage
opened that tiddler above the currentTiddler

THEN

the story emerging would be created in line with the underlying logical structure of the TW.

BENEFIT TO READER

The reader is creating her own story by navigating though a hypertext. Each tiddler is read as it is opened, there is the option of reading the story as it is created. The tiddlers in the story can be re-ordered by dragging and dropping in the Open tab.

It might benefit the readers understanding of the unfolding of the story had a visual meaning based on the metaphor "above is more general" or "drilling down is more specific".

SIMPLE SOLUTION?

Is there one?

Alex

Hi Alex,

This is absolutely user dependent behaviour.

TLDR;

There is a Ctrl-Click on links, as described below. We may be able to have Alt-Click don't scroll and open new tiddler above. ... or so

IMO you are also missing one very important thing in your proposal.

Tiddlers can have several tags. So they belong to several hirarchies.

a) How would you define, which hirarchie should be used. ...
b) How should the author know, which hirarchie / order is best for the user ????

---------------

Eg: I would:

 - Open your link and start reading
 - Ctrl-Click the "Transclusion Basic Usage" tiddler.
    -  So it is opened and scrolling is done at all. I hate it, if the context is moved, whil I read something.
 - I come to the end of  the tiddler and
 - Ctrl-Click all the other links.
 - I close the tiddler, that I'm reading and scroll down to read the next one

 - When I'm finished reading I close it
 - ... and so on

Once all tiddlers are closed, I know, that I did read what I was interested in. ....

So as you see. The story evolves exactly in the way that is "natural" for me ;p ...

have fun!
mario
