Hi All
Just got started on using Tiddlywiki and have started to make it super useful for my personal usage.
I am looking to make it a note-taking hub for everything and with that in mind I am looking to move away from my IFTTTs of importing information from Alexa lists, starred emails and spotify favourites into the likes of Evernote/OneNote/Excel but instead importing the information into TiddlyWiki (Tiddlywiki being the That part of IFTTT).
I have also been using Beeminder to keep me on track with work such as daily note taking and journalling with entries to an excel updating the beeminder program (Tiddlywiki would the the This of IFTTT).
If anyone can tell me how to use tiddly with IFTTT or the API in super simple terms it would be appreciated.
If I need to elaborate further let me know.
Many Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom!

It's great that you have found tiddlywiki useful! About your question; I haven't tried this, but such an integration is a nice idea! How complex a setup would you be comfortable with? Searching this google group brings up some approaches; some worked on a way to use google sheets as a backend for TW, saving and loading tiddlers from sheets. I guess the most customizable way would be to use the node.js edition and have some external scripts create the .tid files.

Triggering actions from tiddlywiki can maybe be done using webhooks?

Best,
Anders

I don't exactly know how IFTTT works, but I think the best way would be to push the content to your Dropbox or somewhere like that and then whenever you open up your wiki you could press the button to import all of the recent stuff from your Dropbox or wherever you have it stored, and it would then be saved in your wiki using whatever saver method you normally use.

Tom,

There are a number of ways the IFTTT can interact and same for tiddlywiki, depending on how IFTTT can access it. If you tiddlywiki online you can access content via a URL (see tiddler permalinks), if you have static pages you can access html pages. TiddlyWiki can use a URL top open it different ways. You can save or export files to locations the IFTTT can see and possibly a lot more. The is a tiddlywiki atom feed and rss plugin that could help. TiddlyWiki could generate a Mailto link which send and email to trigger something etc...

I think more research is required, but their are many possibilities.

Regards
Tony
