Hi, I'm making this little TW companion that let's you edit tiddlers while browsing on other websites, dragging stuff into your wiki and more

I hope you like it, and find it useful!

http://rocketdock.tiddlyspot.com

(do I need to check trademarks?)

cheers,
BTC

You might. Rocketdock.com is the home of my fave dock to make my of more shiny. It's a nice bit of eye candy.

I know how to use it, and you know how to use it, but you might want to at least explain on your site what the Rocket is for, and how to use it.

I added it to the TiddlyWiki toolmap under "Writing and editing - bookmarking".

If you would tell potential users, what it should do and how to use it.

You're right, I've updated the page

I added it to the TiddlyWiki toolmap under "Writing and editing - bookmarking".

Thank you :) - your dynalist is great!

TWRocketDock is a new browser window opened from within a tiddlywiki

It is meant to enable you to add notes to your wiki, drag content into your wiki, while you're away from your tiddlywiki browser tab

http://rocketdock.tiddlyspot.com

The page now contains more details

Why do we need a launcher?  I mean what is the advantage of having the "rocket" tiddler when all it does is replace it with the rocket in action? Lets get to it directly :-)

Now IF a TW could LAUNCH THE ROCKET in a separate woìindow/tab that might be more exciting. Like you have a Rocket tiddler that invoked rocket... You'd just need a tiddler that knew where to find it. (I meant a TW invoking it that is NOT itself the Rocket).

Lovely stuff.

@TiddlyTweeter,

Take a look here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbSwFU6tY1c

It shows that:

  • rocketlaunchs need about 20 minutes of preparation
  • they start with a bang
  • everybody gets excited 'cause rockets are cool
  • someone has to press that button
  • I'm living in Innsbruck and the guy at 4:10 is John Insprucker
  • that's a coincidence

wait a moment - this comes from a parallel universe, right? Because I've never seen it and I've seen everything, so I wonder

My first computer was running windows 95 and I couldn't figure out how to connect to the Internet
  • my practice was: put the AOL cd-rom from the computer journal into the drive
  • wait until internet appears

then I heard that my valley didn't have internet access

after some time internet access was available

the cd-rom still didn't work

I'm perhaps just slightly older. AOL was a closed system at the time I knew of it. Most of my interaction was on Usenet and through "Compuserve".

Then AOL went public on the net and overnight it was populated by idiots :-)

Like me - but fortunately I didn't make it
I had to wait many more journal issues and "free internet acces for a month AOL cd-roms" to be able to make my first yahoo search
can't remember what I yahoogled, though

Now I'll try to stop talking about the last millennium and do something helpful XD

I remember having to boot into dos rn config.sys to bugger.off and then rebooting to clear enough memory from win 3.0 in order to run the game 'the incredible machine' on a teacher's 286....the interwhat?

Happy days...

the internet is difficult to explain, but there's an official book coming about the internet, can't find the link anymore... :(

Happy days...

@all - small update on the rocketdock:

solved the problem that iframes like youtube videos and the text editor blocked the dragging of the bottom panel

the solution is a combination of setting a state tiddler through the pan widget at drag-start and deleting it at drag-end and in css revealing

iframe { pointer-events: none; }

when that state tiddler exists

this solution may be helpful for other projects, too

confused.com here.
not sure what is the actual purpose of TWRockDock?

If I want to add things to my tW in my browser i can just have my TW in a different browser window? or am I missing a trick here?

cheers

@BTC, nice thing. I created something, rQuickTid, similar some time ago. Maybe relevant for comparison.
