Advantages of referencing sources with hard links vs a dedicated macro

Hi everyone.

I've been thinking about the best way to link information in my notes back the the source of the information.

The "built-in" way to do this would be with hard links within the text, that could link to a bibtex tiddler tagged "source".

I also like the way that Mohammad has done this with a macro in his Refnotes plugin.

What do you see are the advantages and disadvantages of either method?
