Hi,

I am someone new to TW, and after 2-3 days of search and research, I find TW as a potential way of building a public Zettel / Digital Garden.

I am currently stuck at one requirement - I want this TW instance to be public (anyone can read), but only editable for me. I tried with the password, but that's blocking read mode. Is there any way to do this?

What I am looking for is some ways to set an ACL / OAuth / Password based login, that makes sure everyone can read my public data - but can't vandalise it.

By default, when your TiddlyWiki document is posted on-line anyone can read it, and they can edit it, and download it (with any changes they've made), but they can't *save* it on-line unless you've installed specific scripts on the server or are using hosting such as GitHub Pages... and even then, they'd need your ID and Password / OAuth / AccessToken, which is only stored in *your* browser (using Local Storage), which permits *you* to save changes online without re-entering your ID and PW, but won't let anyone else save online.

For example, "Inside TiddlyWiki" (http://TiddlyTools.com/InsideTW/) can be viewed by anyone, but only I can change the online version.

Note: Inside TiddlyWiki also has a custom-built "locked/unlock" toggle that, by default, hides the admin/editing functions to give a simplified "read-only" experience; however, even when "unlocked", visitors cannot *save* back to the online copy.

In fact I tried adding things to some TWs, (like the official one) to know it works and got this idea !
This is gold! The more I read and do testing of TW,  I undertand how stunning this product is!
