The TWaddler proudly presents...

the Publish plugin

The Publish plugin lets you use a common TiddlySpot as a private authoring place... but when you save, it also saves to a second TiddlySpot, the public one. And there is a custom filter that prevents e.g private or unfinished tiddlers to get transferred.

This is a step to get my TWaddle blog(?) going again. (No, nothing new there yet. I hope to make a full revamp of it first). My previous publishing routine, also from one private site to the public one, was frustratingly cumbersome but I expect the Publish plugin, in combo with the recently released TW Admin plugn, to bring back the fun. Actually, throw in the upcoming 5.1.14 Info mechanisms so one can easily make different things depending on the URL and we're really talkin' ;-)

Yeah, the usual open Beta release status.

<:-)

This is a great idea! I will add this to my way too long a list of things to find interesting uses for.

This is great, solves one of my problem. Now, how do I fetch the same tiddler to a 3:e tiddlyspot?

Yeah, the intention for the (possibly distant) future is to be able to add an arbitrary number of tiddlyspots to push to. An argument against working on this is that the whole thing is so far limited to tiddlyspot.

Its not a decent argument against limits to do #TiddlySpot IMO.

The point is that it also ILLUSTRATES what can be done.

BUT. Why can't i just do this kinda thing on a normal server? I have access. I have the space. This is something in TW I never really understood. I can SFTP it manually. Why NOT auto?

Best wishes

Josiah,

TiddlySpot uses a server side script called store.php (it's on github). If you set-up a web server with store.php, you can make your own tiddlyspot like service. I did it at home and have tiddlywiki's for various thing. Adding a new one is as easy as saving a tiddlywiki file with a new name.

I'm working on a public variant that will work over https. it's taking longer than I planned because I realized I need to re-think the back-end setup for security reasons. And built some extra functionality (like people changing their own passwords).

Nice, but I can't seem to get it to work. I get the message "Error while saving - username or password do not match" but I know it is the same.
