Hi everyone,

Because I'm stupid, I lost a personnal TiddlyWiki5 (more precisely, I crypted it, then lost the password).

Luckily, I still have a static html view of an earlier version of my wiki. Is it possible to convert this static view back to a fully editable TiddlyWiki ?
I know I could just parse the HTML content and create a new wiki from scratch, but if there was an easier way, I would appreciate it.

Thank you for your input,

Carlo

Ouch! You have my sympathies. Self inflicted calamities have a unique horror that doesn’t fade.

Unfortunately the conversion to static HTML is lossy, and it is not in general possible to reconstruct the original wiki text.

I know I could just parse the HTML content and create a new wiki from scratch, but if there was an easier way, I would appreciate it.

That may be the best approach. I don’t know of any HTML to TiddlyWiki wikitext converters, but there are a few HTML to Markdown converters that might be useful:

Best wishes

Jeremy

Thank you for your input,

Carlo
