Is anybody else facing the following issue?

Saving a Tiddlyspot document directly after editing it online works fine.

Today I wanted to upgrade them to TW 5.1.14 (thanks Jeremy and all contributors!).

I deleted the Tiddlyspot password and saved the document in my local drive. Then upgraded the document from 5.1.13 to 5.1.14. So far so good.

Afterwards I put the password back to upload the upgraded document to Tiddlyspot. It did not work on Firefox (v53, TiddlyFox 2.0.1) nor on Chrome. Tried on TiddlyDesktop 0.0.8 it it worked!

Comments?

I am seeing a similar issue on my Chromebook. I have one TW that I have not been able to save at all (tho I can save same on another machine). Plus, I had a different TW5 on tiddlyspot which I used to be able to save to web from my Chromebook, but after deleting and then re-adding my password, that one doesnt work anymore. This is causing me a lot of frustration!

Hi,

The mechanism is the same as described here: http://tiddlywiki.com/#Saving%20on%20TiddlySpot

I have the same problem.

Both Chrome and FF. Win 10.

However, I'm not sure it is a 5.1.14 issue because I reported on this in February.

Now, yesterday I tried again and I discovered that it DID upload but it doesn't seem to!!!  - When on local machine, with TiddlySpot details filled in, clicking Save it (erroneously) shows the "save to local folder" window. BUT apparently it does also upload in the background as evidenced when I go to the Tidddlyspot and refresh it.

Back in February I likely didn't notice that it also uploaded, as there is no indication of this. E.g I don't think there is any "Wiki saved" alert.

I need to do some further testing today.

I must take back this. I don't get it to work now (...but I can swear it did yesterday).

Could, please, any other TiddlySpot user report if they succeed, and what device + OS + browsers they're on? I'm on Laptop(lenovo) Win10 Chrome.

Hi Mat,

Yesterday I upgraded one of my TWs to 5.1.14 and uploaded it to TiddlySpot without problems.
I made some changes to the local file and could upload it to Tiddlyspot a few minutes ago without problems using a desktop PC with Linux Mint 17.3 and Chrome 58.0.

Cheers,

Ton

I wonder if it could have anything to do with the browser cache or cookies? I posted a message here a couple of days ago about not being able to save to tiddlyspot on a Chromebook, but I think the C'book is a red herring and my problem is maybe the same as you are seeing. I had two TW's on tiddlyspot, TW1 could save, and TW2 could not. I messed around with stuff, including clearing the browser cache and cookies, and now neither TW will save on the C'book. However, on my work laptop I can still save both of these to tiddlyspot, on Chrome browser.

On the Chromebook, I can download the tw to my local storage, edit, then upload back to tiddlyspot and the changes are saved. But when I access the tw from tiddlyspot, save still does not work.

I had to go through a few extra steps but my Tiddlyspot wikis (all 2 of them) upgraded.

I'm on Windows 7 with Chrome Version 54.0.2840.71 m.

I didn't follow the proper process. I did the following:

1) opened my tiddlyspot site and used the browser save page to save a local copy.
2) opened the the upgrade url on tiddlywiki.com
3) drag-and-drop the local saved copy
4) the save button on the upgraded tiddlywiki prompted for a local save
5) opened the locally saved upgraded file
6) added back my tiddlywiki credentials and used the in-wiki save button (it saved to tiddlyspot)
7) Opened the upgraded wiki from tiddlywiki in a new tab (at this point I have 3 tabs with the wiki in it (old, local upgraded, new)
8) Confirmed the upgraded wiki seams to work right, re-save it and make sure it said it worked.
9) close the other tabs.

Did a bit more testing.

I believe the issue is not related to TiddlyWiki 5.1.14.

I downloaded a copy of my TS TW doc, edited it a bit, entered the password back again so next time I saved the TW doc it was supposed to be uploaded to TS.

Saving the TW doc with TW 5.1.13 or 5.1.14 in Unbranded Firefox Nightly 52.0 (32-bit) only produced a downloaded tiddlywiki.html doc. Previously tried in regular latest Firefox 32-bit as well without success. All the Firefox versions are portable though allowing cache savings to the disk drive.

Saving it with Chrome 57.0 (64-bit) only downloaded a copy of my TW doc. Chrome is configured as local with full access (not portable).

Saving it with TiddlyDesktop uploaded my TW docs to TS fine.

My environment is Windows 7 Enterprise v6.1 with all the latest upgrades.

Hi Alfonso,

Firefox does not work for upload to tiddlyspot. http://tiddlywiki.com/#Saving%20on%20TiddlySpot
It worked for me using chrome Version 58.0.3029.81 on Windows 7.
Ton had no problem uploading using Linux Mint 17.3 and Chrome 58.0. That also worked for me.

Ton, Chris, Lost Admin, Alfonso - thank you for replies. Much appreciated.

I guess the conclusion is that it is something limited to my local system. Considering it is both in FF and Chrome, I guess it must be some Windows setting I've done. Must be solved so will report when I eventually find it.

Again, thank you.

Yes, please report if you find anything. I am still unable to save to tiddlyspot on one hardware. I still have one TW that used to save on my Chromebook but no longer does. It saves just fine in any browser on other machines.

Just to close the loop on my problem, it no longer happens after I restarted my Chromebook! I can save without any issues now on all my TW's on tiddlyspot.
