The TWaddler proudly presents....

A powerpoint kinda thingy.
...yeah, it's not fully polished or tested. But it's a pretty simple CSS construction (on top of a remarkable tool called TW) so I believe it should work as expected.

Hi Mat,
very interesting indeed, but not so usable on my tiny phone screen …maybe a point that's on your polishing list?
Thank you and have a great day!

Updated -  Next/Previous seen-on-hover buttons and slide-specific background option.

Still not a polished thing. And haven't looked at mobile issues yet.

That looks good. I think that a good addition would be to add a keyboard widget so you can use a the arrow keys to navigate between slides.

In deed, that is exactly the next step i want to get working. However, documentation on the keyboard widget is scarce. I'll write a separate post on this.

Looks great, because simple and easy to use. I'm going to try it out in class this week.

IN the "About" tiddler, it should say that you need the PreviousNext tiddler too:

Needed tiddlers are

Oups! Good catch! Thanks Andrew!!!

Brave of you to use it in class.  IMO it's not polished enough for the real world just yet... but I guess it might work in a forgiving context.

If I understand the system correctly, each slide can only have one "previous" and one "next". If one were wanting to create multiple presentations from one TW, however, the same tiddler might appear in different places in different presentations. For example, I usually have one TW per course I teach, but multiple presentations per course - not necessarily one per lecture, but more than one per course. My presentations might look like this:

Week1Lecture1: S1, S2, S3, S4
Week1Lecture2: S3, S5, S6

In this scenario, I miscalculated how far I would get in lecture 1, then changed my mind about what would come next (S5 vs S4).  Now S3 needs different "nexts" depending what presentation it's appearing in.

Not sure how best to accommodate this scenario.

Andrew,

You could do that pretty easily by using different ordering fields. Although the previous and next buttons may need an update for that too.

Oh, that's *nice*. I could use that in my personal TW! Thanks!

Hi Andrew,
that is exactly my usecase, I am using lists for this.
I am working on that on slidesnstories.tiddlyspot.com .
You can check out the remote, but the rest of the work will take me another month.

Greetings Jan

Hi Mat,

Well done !
I will have a look to your CSS and see if I can adapt it to me previous test here (https://tw5.xyz/TiddlyPrez/) I helped a friend to create a presentation with TW at Paris Open Source Submit in November.

Your fullscreen background is interesting.

Cheers,
Sylvain

I'm interested in getting a slide show effect in a TiddlyWiki site. Can this be easily embedded?

Would that be a plugin for TW?

Hi Michael Sharp

The plugin is not created. You have to drag the tiddlers listet in the About tiddler to your own Tiddlywiki.

Yes, as Birthe notes, you must drag'n drop the tiddlers listed under "Needed tiddlers". I should have made some more elegant solution for that :-)
