Hi,

In the discussion about Twixie, it came up that it might be better
to store backups as HTML instead of executables. This is how I
originally had it but I changed it later on, simply for consistency
sake, so that if you originally had an executable you would also end
up with an executable as backup.

However, in the discussions with Mario he mentioned about having the
backups be HTML. I think this might be a good thing, and probably
better than to store backups as an executable. It is very easy for me
to change, but I wanted to know what you guys thought.

HTML backup advantages:
- Backups are usually read-only, so it doesn't need the writing
abilities of twexe
- It can be opened in platforms not supported by twexe
- It is easier to simply open in a text editor or
any available browser if we are in a bind
- They can be converted back to a twexe by simply dragging it on
top of another twexe

Executable advantages:
- It provides the writing abilities (but is this needed for backups??)
- It keeps consistency with the fact that it is a backup of a twexe
executable

I am not sure that the executable option has any real advantages, but
maybe I am missing something. It seems to me that Mario is right on
this point. What do you guys think?

thanks

I'd agree that backups don't have to be in exe form,
especially not when it's as simple as drag and drop to get back a twexe.

Best wishes,

Tobias.
