writing TW tags to file system

Has anyone explored the possibility of automatically writing TW tiddler tags to the file system, for the scenario in which tiddlers are being stored as separate .tid files, running TW via node.js?  By "writing to the file system" what I'm trying to say is having those tags visible via Spotlight search or a Finder window search (on a Mac). The rationale is not having to run two searches for one thing, if the "thing" might be a regular file (e.g. word processing document) or a tiddler.  (I have been using nvALT, but something is going wrong with the syncing of tags, between nvALT and Finder / Spotlight).

My ideal scenario would one in which when I tag a file in TW, the tag gets automatically added to the .tid file's metadata, so that it automatically becomes visible for a Spotlight search.

That’s a great idea.

What’s needed is a Node.js library that can read and write OS X Spotlight file tags; I couldn’t find one on a quick search, but if we did, I could certainly provide pointers for linking in the functionality.

Would another option be to write an applescript that would find the tag info in a .tid file, then write it to the appropriate metadata item for that file?
