Deleted posts. did i do something wrong?

I posted a question 'How to change a text editor' and received some answers.

I posted a general reply saying thank you.


I responded to one particular person who has suggested some help [help which did not work hence i tried contacting him again]

earlier today i noticed that the message to that person was deleted

then i tried again posting a reply to the same person

again it was deleted.

why where my questions deleted?
did I do something wrong??

Could it be that you've used the "Reply privately to author" feature?

Or just maybe Google has a personal gripe with you?

Yes I replied privetly to the post. Should that matter?

I wouldn't be surprised if google has a gripe with me...

Yes, if you reply privately this means only that person gets your message, as an email. It does not get published on the boards.

But I think he's referring to the 2 deleted posts on that thread.

I remember faintly that I had that problem once, that Google considered my posts to the group to be spammy and deleted them. Reposting did not help in my case, because the text was the same … so I think one would have to completely rephrase.
Maybe I corrected the text several times in rapid succession and G did not like that?
