This is an important bug fix release of TiddlyDesktop, the custom TiddlyWiki app for Windows, Mac and Linux:

https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyDesktop/releases/tag/v0.0.5

• Upgraded to the latest stable v12.0.3 of nw.js, fixing a number of bugs in the process, including one that prevented v0.0.4 from being used successfully under Windows
• Bugs fixed: #66, #65, #61, #57, #53, #52
• Added a warning about disrupting the backstage wiki
• Switched to using "Settings" instead of "Control Panel", to reduce confusion with TiddlyWiki's control panel
• Updated app icon
• Cleaned up TiddlyWiki build products, fixing #67

As usual, please take care to manage your backups. If you’re using the backup features of TiddlyDesktop itself, check that everything is working before you rely on it.

Feel free to ask questions or raise any issues here,

Best wishes

Jeremy.

Hi Jeremy,
So the TiddlyDesktop will replace the web version TiddlyWiki?

Hi James,

I'm not Jeremy, but the answer is _no_. TiddlyWiki is a web application, that needs a browser to run. TiddlyDesktop is a "wrapper" application, to get a "native" feeling for the TW web application. It also adds some features, eg: managing several file based TWs from the main UI, but the basic app is still the "web" TW. So it's an addition not a replacement.

have fun!

No, TiddlyDesktop is an alternative to using an ordinary web browser to work with TiddlyWiki. It’s a custom browser that just focusses on providing the facilities to use TiddlyWiki. Whether to use TiddlyDesktop or, say, Firefox with the TiddlyFox add-on is largely a matter of personal taste.

Best wishes

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

I must ssy, I really like TiddlyDesktop, and it fits well with my usage scenario.

I may be missing something obvious, but is there a print option?

My usage of tiddly wiki is storage and retrieval of technical documentation.

On occasion, it will be necessary to print. When using Firefox, I click "close other tiddlers" on the one I want to print, the use the web browsers print option to print the remaining tiddler.

Best Wishes,

Andy
