Hey guys,

I'm new here. This is my first post ever in this group. I'm new to TiddlyWiki, but I'm amazed by all possibilities that this wonderful tool has to offer. I've been looking for long time for something like this - all apps that I've already tried do not get even close to TW. TiddlyWiki is working just fine for me, but there is one single problem: I'm not able to work on my Wiki on my iPad. This is killing me.

I'm not exactly a tech savvy. I've tried really hard to discover the best way for me to save my files. I have no idea how to manage node.js. At my work, I'm obliged to use Windows - but I work from home as well, where I use my iPad or my Mac Mini. My html file is stored on owncloud (a private cloud created by my employer), so I can access it via TiddlyChrome. This system works perfectly when I'm at work or using my Mac Mini. However, it fails when I'm using my iPad. My owncloud files are synced with my iPad, but I just can't save any change to TiddlyWiki on iOS browsers and upload it again to the cloud.

Unfortunately, Quine works only with files that are stored on the iPad or on Dropbox. I'm not allowed to use Cloud Services like Dropbox, OneNote or Google - this would resolve my problem, but my employer has its rules.

Do any of you know how could I save any change on TW via iPad and upload it to owncloud?

Thanks a lot!

Fernando

I do not have or use apple products but if you have internet access from the iPad and at work you could use an internet hosted tiddlywiki. The most common off the shelf is tiddlyspot. A few others are available but need your own internet facing server. Some of us like me can use php or other method to host your wiki including git hub.

What you may need to tell us is it private confidential or internet readable content?

if you can access a usb device that may be an avenue.

Can you get other browsers on your iPad? Perhaps another has a save method that will work.

And with all due respect when you chose a propretry solution like an apple product they tend to limit and dictate what you can do.

Never the less an apple fan boy or girl may be able to point you to a native solution.

I am not sure how the iPad handles saving files these days, but you should be able to use the owncloud app with the download saver for tiddlywiki and sync it. You can do this with dropbox so hopefully the own cloudapp has the same feature.
If the saving permissions on the iPad are too strict to allow that there may not currently be a simple way to have an iPad sync a wiki on owncloud, if that is the case than I should be able to put together a simple app that just includes enough to save the wiki so it can sync. The question then is how long it takes something like that to get into the App Store so it is accessible generally.

Thanks a lot for your reply, guys.

I can't use an internet hosted TW because most of cloud servers are blocked by employers.

A perfect solution for me would be to the owncloud app allow me to save the TiddlyWiki file when I open it from the app. However, for some reason, that is not possible. I can't open the TW file from Chrome app (it says that the browser cannot open a file from that location).

There is only one app that allow me to open a TW file: it is Documents by Readdle. Yet, I does not allow me to save the file on the owncloud app. I'm still looking for a solution for this..
