Hello all, especially Hello BJ!
I just discovered the drag-and-drop-plugin of tiddlytools and it brings
a function i have been looking for since Switched to TW5: The ability to
rearrange Tiddlers by drag and drop.
It is already great for the tables of content.
This possibility would be useful for another purpose: Rearranging
Slideshows and Chapters as they are produced by the Storysaver
(http://mashive.tiddlyspot.com/) ...and rearranging the storyriver.
In those cases the lists are produced by fields and not by tags.
Of course I could imagine using the existing feature with the
workround...but I fear would fear doing harm to my tag structure.
Removing a Tiddler from a slideshow could mean it disappears from the TOC.
I would love to have a fieldlist which works like this.
<$fieldlist
somefieldtitle>
</$fieldlist>

or

<$fieldlist
"Tiddlertitle!!fieldtitle">
</$fieldlist>

Would it be possible to add this feature to the plugin?
I hope someone more gifted than me likes this Idea...

Yours Jan

Hi
Sorry, I forgot to mention, drag and drop is to be found here:

Hi Jan,
when a list field is used to re-order a list of tiddlers by tags, deletion and re-creation of a tiddler on the list will not lead to the re-created tiddler appearing on the list as it is not tagged with the list's title (at the point it is re-created).  For other types of lists there will be a problem with removing a tiddler from a list when it is deleted in order for the tiddlywiki to remain consistent, there is currently no built in method of doing this, and so I have decided not to add extra list types to the taglist widget for now.

all the best

BJ

Hi BJ
Thanks for your answer.
Alas, I already experienced that the links only appear when the tiddler ist tagged...
So this was my question: Would it be possible to modify the plugin to create a version wich works without tags. The name "Taglist" of course let's me guess that tags are quite important in the mechanism and that it would mean a lot of work to solve this without.
I ask anyhow because your plugin is the only drag and drop solution I have seen in TW5. Or is there anything else which could help to reorder the storylist which I didn´t notice yet.

Best Wishes
Jan

Hello BJ
I started doing a workarround to rearrange the storyriver using your
plugin working with temporary tags.
One Question: Would it be possible to change the Plugin to exclude the
"drafts" in the ViewTemplate?

Best Wishes Jan

Hey all,

Just coming across this now - I am also interested in the ability to drag-and-drop to rearrange tiddlers in your StoryList/river.

Is there an existing solution for this?

Hmm,

Have I added a plugin to do this?. Try Drag and Drop tiddlers in the Sidebar Open Tab, That is effectively the Story River?

Hey Tony

I just tried it in my Open tab, and indeed see that I can drag and drop to rearrange - I didn't know I could do that! Thanks!

Just as a side comment, it might be nice from a usability standpoint if there was a way to drag-and-drop the tiddlers themselves.

Thanks again!

Diego,

Dragging the title in a list is easier than dragging the actual tiddler, but I understand. I have a plugin or macro installed that I can not identify that allows the tiddler heading to be dragged to another tiddlywiki but not in the story.

Regards
Tony

You are probably talking about "Control panel > Settings > Tiddler Titles > Display tiddler titles as links

Ref: https://tiddlywiki.com/#%24%3A%2Fcore%2Fui%2FControlPanel%2FSettings%2FTitleLinks

sincerely,
