Hello everyone,
I have an idea for automatic backups that should work for every browser (or most). What about having TW5 download a file using the normal download functionality, as well as saving it with whatever other saver it uses. Obviously, not everyone is going to want to do that, and probably a lot of users here save the file that way anyway, but it could be a useful option. We might have to work on the naming a bit, but it'd at least be a backup.
Just an idea.

This is something I have asked more than once, the hability to use more than one saving mechanims.

For example, imagine you have an sync module installed to sync tiddlers to a remote server, but you want also to download and save the file locally. Or even better, to have several sync modules running and save to several different servers.

Sadly TW limits to only one saving method.

It would not be hard to change, but it would need some additional UI. One way is you could group savers together in chains and run all the chains. There'd be a default chain and then you could add more. And the same saver could be in more than one chain (although not every saver would benefit from that). You could also set different parameters for the different chains, so that one might be of type autosave and another would be backup or download, or we could change the filename.

But honestly, I'm getting carried away. That's all possible, but there could be a better way. I mean, you could also just make a custom saver that would call whichever other saver you want and then return false all the time. Just an idea.

That's a great idea as far as I can tell. Distantly related to #1755 Allow saver to be specified for download
