Please find at http://simplechecklist.tiddlyspot.com/ an early version for a checklist plugin.
Any feedback welcome !

Hi FrD,

Nice work! Thx for sharing.

You should include a tiddler with an example checklist.
So we can immediately start playing, without the need of "working" first. ... You know ... for the lazy ones :)

Hi,

Example added.
I also added a button for each item to mark it "important" (text in red) or "unmark" it.

This is *beautiful*! Really love it.

Might I suggest that when you click the edit pencil, the input field and the icons that appear, completely replace the item's [ text < ! / ] icons...

I'd love to find a way to include this in Cardo... Simple lists are often necessary aside from complex to-do's.

Good idea. I'll see what I can do !

Don't hesitate to use it or part of it.

I have been looking for something simple like that. I don't need the "power" of a todo list.

Would it be possible to make it so that when an item is checked it moves down the list so that unchecked item stay grouped at the top

Hi Philippe,

Yes it could be a nice feature. I'll try this week end to deal with it.

Also, when you click for a new item, the cursor is in the box ready for typing

Thanks

Hi Philippe,

I've been thinking a bit more about your suggestion ; I think we'll have to wait until release 5.1.14 because the "action" parameter will be available for the checkbox widget with this release. And it would be the way to go to implement this feature.

Hi Jon,

The input element has now the focus when it appears.

No problem :)

So if I want to add this checklist to my wiki do I just drag and drop all 3 tiddler that you mention? I am never sure how to install new functionnality in my page :(

Hi Philippe,

It's not yet packaged as a "regular" plugin so just dragging  and dropping the 3 tiddlers should do the trick if you want to use it now.
I plan to do some work on it this week end (suggestion from David Szego !) and then will release it as a "regular" plugin (only one tiddler to drag).

Also, it would be useful for the new item to be added to the list by using the keyboard (pressing enter) as well as clicking the save button.
Thanks for your work on this.

Hi Jon,

I see. I'll have a look at the KeyboardWidget since it seems to me to be the way to go. But maybe I'm unaware of another solution ?

Not sure what the mechanism is, but this one has the behaviour https://github.com/tgrosinger/tw5-checklist

The grosinger checklist is indeed minimalistically neat:  https://grosinger.net/tw5-checklist/ It integrates into tiddlers in a different way than yours, and I think, really, more flexibly.

Like yours there are issues fussy people like me have in wanting more features. Probably I most want drag and drop re-ordering if it were possible.

What is very interesting for me is the "surface editing". I'm learning from that. tx.

Best wishes
Josiah

Hi @TiddlyTweeter,

I'd love to see drag and drop too !

The existing widgets are great and allow many many possibilities ; I like to play with them very much. But creating a new one or a plugin for drag and drop is way above me !

Maybe some TW wizzard could build a small and basic drag and drop widget or plugin with a very narrow purpose (dealing with a simple kind of list for instance in very specific conditions) so that others could elaborate on it ...

Hi,

A new version of the plugin (but still not packaged) is available on the site.

It includes the improvements suggested by Jon and David Szego.
According to your feedbacks, I'll package it into a "regular" plugin soon.

Hi again,

Some things I forgot to say : inside an input element (when adding an item or editing an item), you can press "enter" to save or "escape" to cancel.
