using negative values

Hi ,

i have a field that has a number value  referenced in a mathematical operation

now I need to use a negative number  , like say - 4 

if i write the number  like that ,the mathematical operation does not work and does not pick up on the number

is there a specific format for using negative values ?

Mohamed,

Negative values may not always be valid but you example has a space between the sigh + or - and the number. Make it part of the number with no gap. -4 NOT - 4
