I need a way I can more easily include complicated chemical equations and diagrams in my tiddlers. Including an image requires too much re-sizing. Are there any plugins that can help me with creating and including diagrams? I included two examples of the diagrams.

Hi student,

Some musings here:

You'll learn the most from trying to understand both macros and stylesheets.

Best wishes,

Hi Tobias,

MarvinJs you mention in the tiddlyspot TW seems to be proprietary software.
As an alternative: Chemdoodle seems to be GPL licensed: https://web.chemdoodle.com/

Perhaps I'm too much of an opportunist to be overly bugged about it...
I would only prefer opensource over proprietary when it actually makes my day.

Both appear to offer great functionality that one can just use
without any attachments in their demo applications.

If you want to embed any of that on your site using their native libraries, then that's is something else.
But if you just want to draw / save / open / edit these things,
MarvinJS appears to be plenty more feature-rich and well designed.

Note: I've only just seen either today, never before.

Best wishes,

If it's just a matter of resizing, maybe do the image in SVG ?

I had a look, if it would be possible to use part of the libraries as TW plugins. Just doing the rendering, without the need to implement the editors.
But it seems there is no textual "meta language" that describes chemical equations / structures, so the library could just render the stuff.

I haven't seen any of them either, so I had a look at the licenses, if we could use them embedded into a TW.

I know it's a little cheating but then also a wee appealing:

MarvinJS Demo in TiddlyWiki

The only thing that's missing is that you can directly load from and save to a tiddler,
which you need to do manually using an iframed demo editor.

maybe this is of interest to you:
