TW Background and Header

Hey guys,

It sounds a Little bit stupid compared to most of the other Posts, but i just can't figure out how to Change the Background to a x and y axis repeated jpg file + a banner (jpg as well).

I'm not really into HTML and i don't even want to start off reading several hours through different guides for a simple Task like this...

Is there a simple way to do it without much knowledge ?

I tried to edit several shadowtiddlers and to create a standardtiddler with css commands...didn't work for me at all.

suggestions or good guides regarding this Task ?

HI Juan,

To have two different images in the background is not actually very simple I think - you can see how I put a background image on http://www.didaxy.net by opening the sidebar and searching 'background stylesheet'. Also, the next release, 5.1.8 (due soon) will have native support for backgrounds but if you want a fixed banner and a scrolling background, they will need to be separate page elements, so you'll need to figure out how to anchor the banner - possibly to a top menu? it will depend on your design. If you want to post and example, I can try to help more.

For a top banner you could use a div like I have in my icon menus. If you want the banner behind everything else you will have to play with the z values in the css.

I'm using the latest Version of TiddlyWiki but i couldn't find the right shadowtiddler with the Name "Background stylesheet" is this the exact Name ? I also tried to lookup Background and Stylesheet separatly, still wasnt able to find it.

That's the most important for me, since the logo of my company is only a Special font i might be able to use it without having a jpeg as banner :)

Btw your link is the perfect example of what i want to do with the Background. I Don't want it to move when the user is Scrolling.

Hi Juan,

You need to get the background stylesheet from my page at the moment - you should change clouds.jpg to the title of your image tiddler - the background of individual tiddlers can be set to transparent (or anything) by tagging, as you can see by looking at the tiddler called 'color styles'. Note that these tiddlers have the tag $:/tags/Stylesheet. You're quite welcome to gut my page as a starting point for your own if that's easier.

Thanks for your reply, i created the Stylesheet Tiddler and the tiddler for my bg (copied from yours) but i'm not able to make it Show up. you changed your bg tiddler to jpeg and it just Shows the right Picture. When i'm trying to use the jpeg Formation on this tiddler, i just can draw with a yellow pen. This works for me as a Background, but imported jpegs/pngs don't.. Tried to link to my Picture file [img[F:\\....]] still doesn't work for me...

any advice ?
