Hi there!

In previous versions, I could simply tag excludeLists and that would ensure a tiddler did not appear in the timline?
How does one accomplish this in the newer version?

Slow to upgrade,
Will

With TW5 you can create system tiddlers. They are not shown by default.
All system tiddlers start with $: To get them listed at the "More: System" tab, at the very beginning of the list you can start your "user" system tiddlers with an underline, like so: $:_mySystemTiddler. This (the underline) is just an option. But they are easy to find :)

Thank you Mario.

Currently, I have it set to default view that folks see "recent' tab.  Some posts I have linked to other posts and I only want the original one to show.  Is there any excludeLists functionality in the new TW?

excludeLists caused a lot of other problems in combination with the other excludeXXX flags, so it was removed in favour of system tiddlers.

But there is a different possibility, that may be interesting for you.

Francis Meetze made a video, that describes, how to create the Table of Content and the Content tab in the first minutes at this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7-pcOSfDFM&feature=youtu.be

Hi Will

I'd also recommend using a custom sidebar tab that has the precise behaviour you want for your visitors. You could replace the standard tabs, but often it's better just to add a new one (tiddlywiki.com, for instance, adds a "Contents" tab and makes it the default).

Best wishes

Jeremy
