I have created a playground version of tiddlywiki as a demo and would love your feedback.

It is live with the local storage and only a few changes from empty. It allows you to install plugins and reload and do other tests without downloading a copy.

Try you next experiment on it.

TonyM,

It's a clever solution, so at least I don't have to go through the usual workflow (open empty, install plugin, download, open downloaded HTML, try it out, delete HTML), added to my bookmarks! :)

One thing could be added to the solution: the Clear Local Storage button could be among the page control buttons.

Bimlas,

I agree, I have a 90% built a button for local storage, I need to return to it, I was pumping it with a lot of features.

Anyway Noted, thanks for the feedback.

If using chrome its so easy to download a json, keeping it in the tray, then open the playground and drag and drop the json from the tray, but its similar from firefox.

TonyM,

Something seems to be broken: After each reload, I have to enable the "Use browser local storage" option in the Browser Storage plugin myself, because without this it will not save the changes. Interestingly, the state of this switch is not saved in local storage.

Bimlas,

Thanks I will check it.

As pointed to on the to github site of mine, https://anthonymuscio.github.io/ I have created a Pre-release playground as well.

But despite being very careful something odd is happening to my updates.

I have also uploaded a work in progress https://anthonymuscio.github.io/TWBlog.html

TW Tones,

Nice blog, please keep blogging. Following this group I find it interesting to see some of the examples you get from it. Also it always helps understanding to read alternative explanations.

Worked for me on both Chrome & FF. Couple of points ...

1 - That there is NO indication a save occurred could be confusing! How would you know it worked or not?

2 - Limits can be quickly hit that user needs to know how to adjust for in browser ...

But a great experiment!

Best wishes

Thanks TT

I have not struck this yet. Can you quantify how much you installed for this to happen?

Browser and even possible disk limitations?

For many I expect them to play with a plugin or two but it would be nice if could be loaded with a substantial data set.

I plan to add all published libraries as well.

TonyM,

The save bug I described seems to have fixed - if I saw correctly at the time of the bug Prerelease was in the wiki name and the icon was different. I think you accidentally uploaded the wrong version - check that the prerelease is working properly.

Thanks. I think I know what happened I uploaded the correct versions but my github settings gave the wrong file name and overwrite the wrong file.

Will fix tomorrow ie < 12hrs. Thanks

Actually its not so easy to pin down WHY that message came up (it was a couple of files of 2K ish).

I refreshed (did nothing else) and was able to then import 1800 small Tiddlers successfully!

I see nowhere in FF I can see what is stored? Its this "not quite knowing what is going on" that is confusing :-)!
