Hello,
I've been using Tiddlywiki for a little while - Thanks for making it :-)

I use it to help me develop my game:
I string tiddlers together into workflows
I make notes and thoughts and ideas and link them together like a mind map.

I'd like to use extract some tiddlers in HTML form to go in a Dev Blog
I don't know how to go about it
I looked at the --save command but I don't know how to run it.

so
I though I'd go looking for help.

kind regards

Roy

Simple; in the tiddler click the more button (i.e the down arrow in the toolbar) and select Export as html.

For exporting multiple tiddlers, use the Advanced Search tool and the tab Filters. Note the export icon in that tab.

Thanks Mat for your reply, You have given me Hope...
I fear I may have overridden the option when I installed tiddlymap
As the included image shows I just get "connection options" when I click the down arrow

Sorry to be a pain but is there another way, or a configuration setting somewhere?

I see the image.

By "down arrow" I mean the "V" shaped leftmost "more" button. (That actual "arrow with a dot" in your image is not part of default TW).

As a kid playing "spot light",  like hide and seek with a torch in the dark (which could only be flashed on), I found laying on a shadowy slope was enough to hide from people a few meters away, in plain sight. Because they never directed the torch at something they thought they could already see.

Mat,

I wonder if it would be hard to add a "copy to clipboard icon" to the export tiddlers buttons, such that rather than save to file we could save to the clipboard, such as html in the Original request. This would allow tiddlywiki html to be cut and pasted into tiddlers or website html files, like a library of html code.

Tony

That's a great idea, I'll have a look when I have a chance.

Jeremy,

This would be great, and applied to each export type,

It is actually a feature I have asked for via a number of different routes, that no one seems to recognise the gap. The truth is doing this has being difficult for me because I have trouble understanding something to do with rendering templates into wikiText with wikify.
  • for example copy a raw tiddler in tid format, would help posting in the forums,
  • being able to save a set of tiddlers as JSON then pasting this into a tiddler to capture the tiddlers.
  • Copying the current tiddler as static HTML
With very little additional code not only could export go to the clipboard, but it could save to a tiddler allowing a group of tiddlers to be packages as a json etc...

This makes me ask perhaps we should leave the exports as they are, Create a new button, perhaps "save" and have a save to clipboard or save to tiddler option instead. Save to file would be in effect the export.

Regards
Tony
