I'm very new to TiddlyWiki and looking for the right blend of techniques to help a retired professor of music publish his life's work.

He's created a 80 page MSWord doc that is 25% story and 75% table of contents of the concerts and works he has been involved with over 70 years.
There are also hundreds of photos and recordings that either he has or other participants have scattered about.

I'd like to integrate Google Doc and TiddlyWiki to let him polish and blog on the book but let others contribute and subscribe.

Any examples come to mind?

Hi Eric and warmly welcome to TW!

That's a fascinating project. Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean with "integrate Google Doc and TiddlyWiki"?

A few setups to use TW as a blog have been made. I believe  TiddlyWiki creator Jeremy Ruston has one such blog here - I say "I belive" because I'm not sure it's a blog and it does not seem actively used.

I was hoping to extend a Google Doc to include TiddlyWiki tags and categories to refer to songs and performances.  Participants could then microblog on them separately and as audio is added the book could become a huge evolving playlist.

My hope was that someone else had the GoogleDoc expertise to know if that was even possible.  It would need to be more like a chart embedded based on a URL to http://tiddlywiki.com/#GettingStarted for instant.

I can't find a GD plugin that embeds JS/HTML like that.  Perhaps binding the data to a Sheet and then leveraging that integration.
https://developers.google.com/apps-script/guides/docs does not seem to pave the way for a simple publish/subscribe mechanism.
