Here is what I'm doing and tell me how to do it right.

  1. I hit boxexe, get wiki
  2. I change ws server host to 0.0.0.0.
  3. I hit update settings and hit save
  4. I reset the server (by hitting reload?)
  5. I get ERR_CONNECTION_RESET over and over and over.
What am I doing (wrong)?

How are you changing the 0.0.0.0 setting? I've never had any luck clicking on the button offered to you on the Hello tiddler. You might try changing the settings under the "server" tab. Also, close out/ reopen Bob after making changes. AFAIK reloading the tab isn't good enough, at least on windows.

I made the changes manually, and closed the terminal. I reopen bobexe and I get the same old page without the changes I made.

I make the changes and then I restart bob. Not sure what address I am supposed to put on other computers, but I have tried just about every combination and nothing works.

I did notice that when I restart bobexe the ws-server host option is not there.

I restart bob and it still says serving the 12.0 server, tried changing host manually in the Jason file and nothing, I mean nothing, works.

What version of Bob are you using? I think you have to get the latest version from the dropbox link in this thread:

Good luck

Thank you for the advice on both giving me a good download and on how to ask for advice.

I downloaded the version suggested, had to put in the server 0000 manually. Worked like a charm!

But then I noticed that the wiki was not saving from the host or my other machines at all. I have autosave on but not getting any saving anywhere.

I also tried to import a wiki with create a wiki from an html file. While the wiki is listed I do not see it at all when I click on it. Normal?

Using windows 7 64, using Bobexe 123

It might help to show your configuration file (either settings.json or copy/paste from the Bob server tab).

You're not alone -- I had to struggle to get Bob to serve up my existing Wikis. The configuration file is frustrating, because you will make a change, and when you reload, it shows you an empty configuration file (which may eventually populate, but I don't know why/when). But maybe there's just something weird about my configuration.,

Good luck
