One of those pieces of TW knowledge that I've had, and now lost: How is the order in which templates are applied determined? I have tiddlers with two different tags and have a template for each, but I'd like to specify the order in which the templates are applied.

Thanks,

//steve.

I'm guessing you're talking about ViewTemplates, i.e any tiddler tagged "$:/tags/ViewTemplate". In that case, go to such a template and click that tag. (Or just create a new temporary tiddler with that tag). Then drag'n drop the titles showing in the tag dropdown.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. But i don't understand your solution.

In this permaview of my wiki I show:

Tiddler1 tagged "artifact" and "course"

Tiddler2 tagged "perspective" and "course"

And three templates:

A - artifact template
A - perspective template
Z - course template

I want tiddlers matching "course"  run through the Z-course template first, and tiddslers matching either "perspective" or "artifact" to run through the appropriate template last.

[By the way, this is an interesting project, feel free to look around and comment to st...@sunypoly.edu, on both the tiddlywiki part and the educational concept being described]

Thanks,

//steve.

OK, type this into any tiddler

<<tag "$:/tags/ViewTemplate">>

and save the tiddler. Click onthe resulting tag. In the dropdown. Assuming your templates are indeed tagged with that tag, you'll see them there and you can rearrange the titles in the list. This rearranges the order in which the tiddler shows them.

oh. ok. why didn't you say so!

"Tiddlers listed under tag pills use the drag'n'drop mechanism, move 'em around however you'd like..." duh! that's easy...thanks, Mat.
