Hi,

In a freshly-downloaded copy of TW5, this doesn't align the header to the center, the cells all merge properly, but it aligns it to the left instead of the center:

| !Table header |>|>|
|one|two|three|

Here is the result:

-- This used to result in a center-aligned header in TW Classic. Has the formatting changed or is this a bug?

I downloaded a copy of TW5 where I tweaked the palette and stylesheet, but otherwise the TW is just the core version with nothing else added (I deactivated the single plugin I had added and restarted it just to make sure). For some reason, there is an issue with the cell-merging in tables:

| !Table Header |>|>|
|one|two|three|

Now, the header will center-align, but the second cell merge doesn't happen. Here is a screenshot of what this ends up looking like:

I'm not really sure what's going on here. I haven't had any issues with either of these in TW Classic, so I know that whatever it is, is a new problem. I don't have problems with tables displaying on other websites, either. I have tried the same TW5 in Safari and instead of displaying the cell that didn't merge properly, it doesn't display anything there. The table just looks like a notch was taken out of it:

If anybody has any ideas where this issue may be coming from, please let me know. If it's a bug, I'd be happy to submit it and provide more information. Just let me know. I'd like to be able to make tables format in the correct way and I'm really not sure what's getting in the way, here.

Thanks,

Hiru

Hi Hiru

I think you are merging in the wrong direction:

”To merge a cell with the one to its left use the text <. To merge one to its right use >“.

Detailed information about tables in wikitext can be found in the docs:
http://tiddlywiki.com/#Tables%20in%20WikiText

Good luck!

As Thomas points out:

|>|>|  !Table header |
|one|two|three|
