I haven't made anything in weeks so I decided I had to make something. I had a lot of records for Javert (our dog) in a wiki from when we moved to Paris so I started working on a simple pet diary/records edition. It is still very much under development but I was hoping that someone has some good ideas about what should be added since it would be easiest to include things early.

Here is the current version:

Hi Jed,

Very good idea. My labrador mix reminded me that insurance info could be important.

Favourite toys (in case he is to be taken care of by others for a while). I usually also have to either give them a box of my home made dog biscuits or in some cases the recipe LOL.

I do not know what happened to my dog before I got him, but he sure does not like sudden movements ending up touching his left shoulder.

I would suggest adding feeding schedule and favorite foods. Some dogs are mighty picky.

Thanks for the input!

It looks like I am going to make diary and picture gallery plugins from what I have for the pet diary. So if anyone has suggestions for what should be added before I actually package them as plugins let me know.

Hi Jed,

A diary speaks of historical events. What about future events / scheduling? When does my dog's registration expire? When is he next due for vaccinations?

Just my 2¢ worth,

Hegart.

The immunization records automatically list when they expire with what I have, but I should add a calendar and some other list that shows upcoming events.

I will add it to the list. Thanks!

Hi Jed,

I am trying to translate the immunization record into danish. I have two problems both with the expirations dates.

1.) Before translation I get strange dates not matching what I think I have entered.
2.) How would I be able to translate the outcome.

In '$:/plugins/inmysocks/Photo Gallery/Edit Photo Gallery' I find it rather difficult to edit the filter. It looses focus for each letter entered.

I must say I love the photo gallery. Easy to use and just the right thing for the myriad of dog photos we take ;-)

Birthe,

I am glad someone else is getting use from it! I have been busy trying to organize everything again, I have been in Paris almost a year and I still haven't gotten organized like I was back in the US so I am being very slow with updating everything.

I am not sure what would be wrong with the dates for you, everywhere there is an input it should be numeric in day-month-year format and everywhere the date is displayed as words it is done by javascript which I think should put it in whatever language your browser is set to use. I hadn't really considered how translations would work so I may need to change that.

The expiration dates are determined using the year-diff and add-time javascript macros, I am not sure if looking at them will help but if we can put the output in a specific language that is where it would be done. Hopefully it won't be too long before I have a chance to look at it.

And I am just embarrassed about the problem with editing the gallery filter. That is a mistake I should have caught right away. I am about to put out a plugin version of the photo gallery with some fixes and it will be fixed in that. I am not going to put out a new version of the pet diary until I have more time to work on it, but you should be able to import the photo galley plugin and just delete the photo gallery tiddlers in the pet diary. I guess I should try to make it easy to translate the the photo gallery plugin too. I hadn't considered that. This may take a bit of time.

Hi Jed,

I have translated a lot of your plugins and other material. I hope  you do not mind, but I have done so in the plugins or macros themselves, never forgetting to tell who authored the stuff and where I got it.

I have several reasons to do so. I like your creative ideas. Translating is really a good way to learn from you. Feedback being to find all the relevant places to translate, and that everything works after the process. I find it is getting easier and easier to translate as I learn. After the translation process it is easier to get ideas how to change small things. This is the advantage of this way of doing things. Language tiddlers will make things easier to translate, but more cumbersome for the authors. I do not think any author think all this language stuff while creating.

Really Jed you are not slow updating, maybe you feel that way about your organizing, but you are very very creative and productive and thank you so much for that.
