This may have been covered somewhere else, but I couldn't find it. Is is possible for tags to inherit the color of their parent without changing each one?

Example: My wiki is named "mysite". It is segmented into 7 topics e.g.

1. writing
2. catalogs
3. strategy
4. journals
5..correspondence
6. personal
7. utilities

each of these topics are further segmented and some are used under multiple topics.  Under writing I have

1-A biographies
1-B stories
1-C poems
1-D essays
1-E interactives
1-F presentations
1-G writing utilities

And so on.  Is is possible to have all tags under writing to inherit the color of the writing tag?

Thanks to any and all who respond.

yes. but you need to do it manually ;)

open the sidebar: More:Tag Manager

I found a nice page, a long time ago, http://meyerweb.com/eric/tools/color-blend/#FF6633:FF0000:6:hex  it lets you create nice variations between 2 colors. so your "subtopics" can have slightly different shades

have fun!

Thanks for the response. I'll keep my eyes open in case a workable.solution ever appears.

Hi Raymond,

The TagManger can be easily extended to do this kind of batch editing,
using a button with a list widget around the action widget inside doing the color changing.

But perhaps the TagManager should mutate to a more powerful TiddlerManager first,
so we don't put a myriad more functions into it.

Best wishes,

Tobias.
