Hello all,

In the startup world, feel like the lean canvas tends to be underused. I think it is because of a perceived sense of difficulty in a managing such a tool in practice.

To that end, I've created this lean canvas creator tool plugin. It's convenient to use and lends itself very well to long-term archiving. You can create hundreds of projects and each project can have hundreds of lean canvases.

You can access it here: https://abesamma.github.io/lean-canvas-creator/index.html

Pull requests and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Abraham,

This looks really good. Most impressive. I look forward to using it.

Some Quick Comments
  • I immediately had to change sidebarlayout to fluid-fixed
  • For me I had to stop the Zoomin view
  • I would add a tiddler tabbing plugin to navigate
Thanks for your contribution.

Regards
Tony

Added this to the TiddlyWiki toolmap under a new category Business - plugins for business uses (https://dynalist.io/d/zUP-nIWu2FFoXH-oM7L7d9DM#z=wL5F--kvdV-_zPzAcmueWgqE)

Not sure how hard it would be, but it seems like some kind of tabs or even better, vertical tabs, would make this easier to use, and visually more appealing. Your layout depends on someone having a wide monitor, and the resulting text editing areas are pretty small. But that nitpick aside, this is great and I like the idea of business applications like this in TiddlyWiki. SWOT and other business analyses would be good to do in a format like this. Kudos.

Hi Abraham,
Very nice application of Tiddlywiki! Some minor comments
  1. a button to close project (so close all canvases and related tiddlers)
  2. hide new item when the desired item is created. The current mechanism is a bit confusing
  3. open a canvas can also hide the sidebar to cover the entire browser width

Thanks TonyM. I assume the 3rd advise is something akin to what's under the more tab, correct?

Yes, you got me there! I prefer keeping the sidebar closed constantly so this is my wide view bias. I haven't figured out how to adequately squeeze in everything without resorting to overflow scroll.

I'm glad you like it. It's a tool that I use a lot so expect some updates in the near future.

And yes, a vertical tab view will be beneficial coming to think of it.

In afraid the confusing mechanism is a result of some discussion I had on Twitter that showing a new tiddler draft containing the template code would confuse tw5 newbies (this is aiming to cater to their needs).

This is a dirty way of obfuscating that. I'll think of something better ;)

BTW, each project tiddler created already has a delete project and contents button.

Abraham,

Similar to the Open tab, yes, but there is a plugin (which I can't confirm where just now)  that provides tabs at the top of the story for each Open tiddler, so you can access tiddlers that are already open while the sidebar is closed.

Given this may be a user configurable component, perhaps you do not need it, but I recommend trying it, I think it would be a nice way of working with this tool.

Tony

Noted. I'll experiment and poke around.

As a side note, this problem of lost useful tw5 plugins is also another thing I'm working to solve in conjunction with developing a Maarfapad hosted app for my wife's clinic. The dynalist compilation is very, very useful but somewhat limited. I hope to have something interesting to present come the end of January.

Or perhaps by new item you mean the different items within the actual canvas? If so, I'm working on it.

Hello all,

Similar to the Open tab, yes, but there is a plugin (which I can't confirm where just now) that provides tabs at the top of the story for each Open tiddler...

I think this may help you...look for Top Story Tabs.
I use it on most of my personal wikis.

Best regards,

Julio

Oh yeah! That is a really good add on. But since it already exists as a usable separate tool, I'd advise others to use that in conjunction with the LCC.

Julio,

I am having trouble getting this to work. I see it was published in tiddlywiki version  5.1.11

Have you got it working on a recent release?

Tony
