Considering the increased activity over the past 2-3 weeks, I was curious to see if anything had happened to the trendline for "tiddlywiki" searches:

https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=tiddlywiki

Well, I'm not sure I can draw many conclusions from it but I am surprised to see the number one country showing interest is.... China - !? For the past 90 days, the statistics say that almost every search is done from China - it gets a relative interest of 100 versus and any other country that get 4 or less!

This certainly is not reflected here in the discussion forum (or?)

I fear spammers may be trying to harvest email addresses but I hope we have more Chinese members visiting.

We may never know why China is number one. But why is Switzerland #2?

And, unlike any other project I've followed, the largest English speaking country on the planet is vastly under represented, ranking only one notch above Venezuela. The name of the product alienates people before they have a chance to learn more.

Population size must have something to do with the high Chinese activity.
Now you search for tiddlywiki in Chinese and you will sure find lots of them. Many TWclassic though.
Also Chinese was the first translation to be added as far as I remember.

If Google translate is involved, there's no telling what they were really looking up. Somewhere in China someone is tapping away at their computer and thinking, "I keep searching for parts for my koi pond, but this crazy Google keeps sending me to a UK site about information software."

Is Google Trends considering population size? Then it was me, sorry!
;–)

By the way, try https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%201-m&q=tiddlywiki (1 month should be closer to 2-3 weeks than the initial link) and the world looks different.

Cheers,
Thomas

And the #1 similar search term is "tiddlywiki alternative"

:-(

I hope we are dealing with an insignificant amount of data here, not representative at all.

I think we can ignore China as an outlier. But what's the story with St. Helena ? Certainly not a population bubble thing.

Hi,

I've wrote a blog about replace Notion with Tiddlywiki

I can see in the ga, there are some traffic searching notion click into this blog.

And we have a knowled management interest group in China, we are actively discussing TW this year, maybe this is another cause I think.

This is very exciting if such increases in visitation from China and the other countries comes from organic growth. Already very diverse tiddlywiki can only benefit.

I wish we had Babel fish to stick in our ears (from hichikers guide to the galaxy) so there were no language barriers.

Different languages and cultures influence the way we think. Tiddlywiki is a thinking tool and can only benefit.

Regards
Tony

Hi @Lin @PLATO

I know we have many users from China and some great developers also! So, it is not surprising to see the country with largest population in the world
has higher users on Google trend!

Cheers
Mohammad
