I used to fly rod from a inter-tube/belly boat in some lakes and calm streams.  Wondering if they are allowed in an area like the Duck Pond, maybe the marina near the Pentagon?

Cheers and Happy Holiday's everyone.

I was recently told a story about someone portaging their paddle board from the river to the Tidal Basin. He was very quickly escorted out.

You're good in the duck pond or in the main Potomac river. Dip so much as a toe in the overflow at the Tidal Basin and the park police come running.

good rule of thumb, if it in any way competes with an NPS vendor, it's illegal.

No issues at all in the marina near the Pentagon, and there is a nice launch area. I go from there with my SUP to fish quite a bit.

Are you asking what an SUP is?

SUP = stand up paddleboard.

Well you can always install a cooler on the board, fill it with beer and paddle around on that, that would turn it into a sitting paddle board I guess :-).Did that bass fishing with the kid last summer, no beer for her, but that worked out quite well, the beer at least.
