Cacapon River

Who's got the low down on the Cacapon River in West Virginia? Just curious, contemplating a future day trip there. Thanks.

I'll might be there on Sat.unless either work or a trout trip further west trumps it.   If you search Berkeley Springs in the forum, you'll find a little bit of information.  There is a pretty nice access the a guy named murf recommends.  I haven't had much luck there, but it's certainly pretty and can be popular in the summer too.  I'm still trying to find a spot around that area where I might have better luck.  I've heard that the power plant on the cacapon is pretty good fishing, though I haven't been there yet.

I don't know much about it personally, but I have looked at renting a cabin/house up there for a week.  There is a lot of private access water (lots of vacation houses).  I'm not sure how good the public access would be if you are not floating the river.

It certainly looks like good fishing.
