I've never witnessed this persistent presentation of the bait/lure among avian fauna, but I have seen it practiced by astream by Homo sapiens. ;-)

Green Heron -- seen that one posted before, but it's a very cool video and worth posting again ;).

All kinds of birds here in MO -- best so far are trumpeter swans laying in harvested corn fields. Very pretty birds.
