Next casting church will be Sunday Jan 12 at Fletchers Cove.

Church starts at 8am.

If it is raining steadily, there won't be many people there.

I'm hoping I can steal some of your time for some instruction on underhand spey casting. Will probably end up hiring you before I make my annual pilgrimage to the deschutes this year, really want to hammer out my casts so I can skate dries to summer steel in august.

Casting work

We will begin working on the Casting Instructor practical tasks as part of assisting those who want to pursue the Casting Instructor certification at some point in the future. This will continue thru the year, during each casting church. You don't have to be interested in pursuing the certification. If you are interested in improving your casting skills, this will be excellent work in that regard.

Also, I highlight that FFI also has a casting skills certification, separate from the Casting Instructor certification. See the website, https://flyfishersinternational.org/Education/Learning-Center/Casting/Casting-Skills-Challenge

The casting certification is individually driven, progressing from Bronze to Silver to Gold levels.

Let me know what you are interested in working on, during the church on Sunday.

It was a great day for it (hope the weather holds over the next couple of months!). Brook and I talked it up with several novice casters at the Beer Tie.

I know that working with several different instructors has me feeling more confident about curing a tailing loop and adding distance to my casts.
