Bluegill in Olde Izaak Walton Park Pond in Leesburg?

I'm planning to take my 3yo son fishing for the first time this weekend. Was hoping to get into some bluegill. I had success at Olde Izaak Walton Park in Leesburg years ago when first learning to cast a fly, but haven't been back in 5+ years. 

Does anyone know if the pond still holds fish? Or fished it recently? 

Any other suggested spots in/around downtown Leesburg?

I haven't been there in years either,  but all the Ashburn ponds are a good choice in that area too.  some have a good bit of open area for novice backcasting

Not sure it's the same place. Year ago it held fish when helping with a merit badge program. There was a locked gate controlling access to the IWL area and the pond.

That pond has bluegill,bass, and other fish. You need to be a member or with a member as a guest to get in. The gate is locked
