Beer Tie Monday, March 13

Our March Beer Tie is coming up next Monday, March 13 at Whitlow's on Wilson in the Sandbar. Doors open at 6PM and we get booted to the front bar at 10PM. Bring your vise and materials if you want to tie; the shad are in so might as well get your shad box filled up.

As always, burgers are half priced and we'll have a beer special.

Starting at 7PM, Rob Snowhite will be teaching a few shad patterns at the learning table, where we provide all of the materials and vises.

Yes, I listened to some of that on youtube, you briefly described the flies which I found a couple vids and pics of.

I don't have any ostrich plumes... but I took a shot at the damsel using marabou.. meh...

Tying quantity of flies tonight. All tiers will be tying multiple flies for shad.

If anyone has bright colors of chenille or flash (Krystal flash, flashabou etc) to contribute that will be great. We have pink and chartreuse chenille only.

Drinking and tying in a bar during a snow event is up there with about as great as it gets.

What's the best way to park there?

There's a few nearby paid parking decks and some metered parking spots that are free after 6pm (but generally full), most of the neighborhood street parking is limited to permit holders. Whitlow's is also two blocks from the Clarendon Metro Station if you take the train.
