I thought this was just an internet rumor until finding this link about paving the road along the Rapidan River

Is there somewhere normal people can voice an opinion? Personally I would hate to see that road paved.  I love fishing places most vehicles can't access.  Not sure about the rest of the crowd on here.

Danny -  I suggest writing to each of the board of supervisors and the county administrator, http://www.madisonco.virginia.gov/ - look for the "Contact" button in the upper right corner.  That's in addition to NPS, VA DGIF, VA legislators and Rep. Eric Cantor of the 7th CD.  Say exactly what you say here. You will likely get a polite letter in response, if not satisfaction from the response.

Alright.  I hope I am not the only one with this feeling.  That beat up dirt road is what keeps that river so wild, scenic, and un-crowded.  I have never gone up there in the last 12 years and ever seen more then one truck.

Negative economic and environmental impact is a legitimate concern; having anglers who drive subcompact hatchbacks being able to access your trout stream strikes me as a bit selfish. To quote Dan in Urban Lines: "If on one hand we talk about conserving natural resources and keeping them healthy for recreational use, and on the same breath, sort of say "I'd like to have the river all to myself," we're sort of kidding ourselves. You can't have both."

Eric -- this is America! You need to repress any ideas of "fairness" to other anglers.  That's too much work, and what will it get you? That's right -- other anglers in your fishing spot!

I've found that absolutely everything in life is mostly about me, and that's that!

......Where are the keys to my monster truck.....I'm wrasslin some brook trout!  On a #14 Mr. Rapijerk!

Suckers!
