HA! It can be a tough spot for righties -- wading deep to get a decent backcast. Probably better off wading all the way across to the gravel bar if the tide is lower and not too strong (or you have a snorkel). Alternatively, it's a great spot for a light switch.

I would strongly urge everyone not too wade all the way across Gravely. That is airport property. They do not want you there and will let you know in short measure.

Just don't stand on shore by the fence by the runway and you will be ok. This is public property up to the fence
